Suggestion(s) to keep GMs in the league The volume of games has dropped off significantly over the past few days. I know if I were a losing GM early-midway through the season, especially one who came to the league late and had to settle for a less than average team, I'd be less inclined to finish out the season. This could lead to us never making it to the playoff portion of this league.
Perhaps we can come up with some incentives to stayin the league.
One suggestion would be that, similar to the NHL draft, the GMs with the worst records have first dibs at picking a team next season.
Another suggestion is that we have some sort of playoff among the teams that don't make the playoffs. (note that I like this one much less, but I figured I needed more than 1 suggestion to make this idea viable)
Post any other suggestions here, and if you agree disagree.

Picking the teams by the worst record sounds good. Maybe have the champ pick his team first then worst record second, so forth

I dont think giving the worse players a crack at a better team will make much of a diffrence. Has NHL fans, you should know the league in general has alot of parrity when it comes to talent. Just look at the standings in bdhl, stars, ottawa, carolina, new jersey are some of the worst teams. Yet most ppl would say they are all high caliber teams with good players. For example giving some guy who sucks with new jersey a chance to take buffalo? Detroit? Calgary? will not do anything and he will be no better off than before. If nething you wanna weed out the player who doesnt wanna play anymore cause hes losing, not only will it get rid of ppl who dont play enough, but in the end make the league more competetive by weeding out the noobies :)
So if those guys dont wanna play anymore on a regular basis, good luck, there are good players out there who will join. I wouldnt worry about it too much. Plus how will it affect playoffs, if thier not in them.

The only concern I had with playoffs was that we'd never get there because teams with poor records early on wouldnt finish their regular season games.
If you're confident that we'll get replacement GMs for these teams, even though they have to assume the poor record of the GM their replacing, then I have no problem with the current system.
I think we do need to state somewhere that this league will span multiple seasons if what mush124 suggested is the way to go. That way a joining GM who is replacing a GM who is 0-15 feels like he still has purpose.
